pew end wood carving

This entertaining creature is a 13th century carving on a pew end in the nave. Much renovation took place in the early 16th century throughout the church.

[Has this pew end been restored; there is a dip in the lower lip. research needed]

"The oak bench-ends in the nave, which are carved with many devices, and the carefully repaired stalls in the choir, are Perpendicular".[1]
